Verne Jay was a radio show writer who wrote a few scrips for "Mr. and Mrs. North" and "Grand Central Station," as well as two of the so-called "Lost" Shadow scripts from 1944 -- Flames of Death and Death in the Tomb. He later wrote for television including a 1966 episode of "Gunsmoke."
