Doctor Roy Tam is a well respected American-Chinese physician who has gathered fame for his work of aiding the Chinese in their efforts to adopt to American methods.
Due to his medical knowledge, advanced views, and being a consultant, he's welcomed in many quarters, which makes him an excellent Chinatown contact who The Shadow can always trust.
He is more of a friend than an agent of The Shadow's, and works independent of the other agents within the crime fighter's network. Dr. Tam is also a friend of Yat Soon, another Chinatown arbiter.
