Synopsis for Penumbra[]
1915: While in Paris with her husband, Martha Wayne has a brief affair with an American aviator, Allard. She gives her new lover a near-priceless fire-opal as a gift, but soon after, her husband needs the gem as collateral for an investment. Meanwhile, a jewel thief has stole the girasol from Allard. Allard tries to retrieve the gem by sneaking into the thief's apartment, but he is caught and arrested. Ms. Wayne also learns of the jewel thief and tries to regain the stolen item from the apartment. However, the thief comes home, becomes startled by her and falls out the window to his death.
